My mother is from Bryansk, Russia, and my father is from Zakorpattia, Ukraine. We met in the Latvian SSR. I'm the eldest; my sister is 4.5 years younger. My father died when I was 5. Then came perestroika, and life was very difficult. My sister and I took turns going to school (they couldn't afford the fare). I studied very well to escape the village, where my mother had to move because there was no work in the city. My sister and I worked in the fields in the summers from childhood! I finished school and went to university in Riga. After my first year, I went to Ohio, USA, on a Work & Travel program. I earned a bachelor's degree in political science while working as a consultant at L'Oreal Baltic. I climbed the career ladder and, in eight years, rose to brand manager for the luxury cosmetics department (Lancome, GA, Biotherm, YSL) in the Baltics. Then I went to work for a pharmaceutical company in the marketing department, while simultaneously earning a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Latvia and pursuing a PhD in Economics. From the pharmaceutical company, I returned to the cosmetics industry as Head of Sales, responsible for exporting the Latvian brand Kinetics Nails to 40 countries. Then I opened my own event planning company. I've been self-employed for six years now. In the near future, I want to move from Latvia to a warmer climate—Italy or Spain—but I haven't decided yet. I'm currently going through a divorce, with my first court date in the fall. My current goal is to find a second business venture that will generate passive income.
I'm interested in biohacking, exercise 2-3 times a week, and travel a lot—I can't imagine my life without it! I spend a lot of time with my children.
